Thursday 1 August : One week to go and things are really hotting up in Jersey – and we’re not just talking about today’s record temperatures of 31.5°
Ticket outlets are now open in St Helier for those who have yet to purchase them; they are 23 Esplanade (opposite Jersey Tourism office) and at M&S in King Street. Open between 10am-4pm but don’t forget you can still purchase them online
The setting up of the arena has well & truly started, flowers have now arrived and lots of prep work going on before the ‘big glue on’ begins.
Many of our visiting bands and entertainers will be arriving in the Island this weekend and don’t forget for those who are flying in to Jersey on Saturday morning you may well meet our very own Miss Battle of Flowers, Taye Le Monnier (& Battle Bee of course!) up at Jersey Airport.
And don’t forget that the Miss Junior Battle Competition will be taking place this Sunday afternoon, 4 August on the Main Stage at the Battle Funfair. It is open to any young Jersey girl between the ages of 8 and 12 years. Advance registration will take place on Sunday in front of the Main Stage between 12pm-12:30pm with the competition starting at 2pm.
A final thought before we say ‘Goodnight’ – By our reckoning (at the time of this post) there are still 161.5 hours to go until the famous roar of “Let Battle Commence” is proclaimed next Thursday afternoon (2.30pm) by His Excellency the Lieutenant Governor of Jersey.
