The 2000 Battle Parade opened to a splendid sunny day, enabling all the floats to display themselves to their best.
The Henwood Ensemble's 'Vincent' walked away with The Richard Winnerah Trophy
Our entry list this year included all the faithful together with a number of new entries. Trevor Le Cornu, Stephenie & Kevin and The Parish of St John. This now brought the number of 45ft Parish floats to ten and added to the magnificent private entries in these classes produced some total of thirteen 45ft floats. With so many trophies available the competition becomes intense and this year produced some of the most magnificent floats ever seen.
The major floral trophy for the Prix d’Honneur went to the Optimists Club with the float “BUSA”
