Battle 2003 was another fine day with 30 floats parading along Victoria Avenue in the glorious summer sunshine.
Among the guests included this year was Mr David Squire who is the Town Crier of Poole who thoroughly enjoyed his stint of welcoming the Governor to our one hundred and first Battle of Flowers.
There was an array of visiting and local Bands and Troupes including the Chesham all Girls Band, Jersey Scout Band, Jersey Starlight Majorettes, The Kingfishers, Wessex International Majorettes, Run for Cover Band, Steve Roxton Band, The Band of the Island of Jersey, Vision Twirlers and the Jersey Majorettes all of whom did a wonderful job of entertaining the crowd.
The Moonlight Parade was just as spectacular with all floats illuminated and a fantastic Fireworks display which this year for the first time was let off from fishing boats moored in the bay of St Aubin.
Following this magnificent display the Battle 2003 concluded.
