Battle 2007

The weather could not have been better for the Jersey Battle of Flowers 2007 Parades. Again the Exhibitors did not let us down and produced 22 Floats of impeccable standards all being an array of beautiful colours and fantastic designs. Commentating this year we had Ed “Stewpot” Steward and Roger Barra of BBC fame. Both did a wonderful job making sure everyone was having a great time. This year's Miss Battle was Victoria Trehorel who had a truly wonderful time acknowledging the thousands of spectators from her own float. Luckily for her we were able to persuade Kyran Bracken, the former England rugby star and winner of the TV skating show “Dancing on Ice", to be our Mr. Battle and to accompany Victoria and take care of her.

The Moonlight Parade again was magical with all Exhibitors exceeding our expectations and producing some of the most memorable lighting shows seen for many years. Again Victoria and Kyran were part of the show which this year saw both Murray Norton and Peter Morris, past stalwarts of Battle, giving commentaries which were both informative and funny.

It must be said that with so many hours of hard work and enthusiasm given by hundred of volunteers, Battle this year enjoyed success and we all look forward to the 2008 Jersey Battle of Flowers Parades.
