Vicky Godel
The title of Miss Jersey Battle of Flowers 1999 was awarded to 18 year old Vicky Godel who was the reigning Miss St Helier. Vicky beat off 20 other contestants to take the coveted title. An A-Level student at the time of the Battle, Vicky joined the ranks of the employed at KPMG in July 1999.
Vicky exprienced life the "other side" of the Battle that year as normally she attends as a member of the St John Ambulance Brigade.
The Maid of Honour was 20 year old Joanna Currie who was at the time the reigning Miss St Saviour. Reaching the dizzy heights should not have proved to be too much of a problem as Joanna is an Air Hostess for KLM.
Both girls attained their new titles at the Hotel de France on Saturday 29th
May 1999 in front of an audience of over 250 people.
