Shelley Brown
Miss Jersey Battle of Flowers 2000 was Miss Shelley Brown who, along with her Maid of Honour, Miss Holly Waigh-Wheeler, were chosen to represent the Battle of Flowers Association at the first Miss Jersey Battle of Flowers Competition of the new Millenium, held on the 30th June, 2000 at the Hotel De France. The girls were chosen from a line-up of eighteen entrants that had originally come from over fifty entrants from either the Parish competitions or the newly introduced Open Heats.
Shelly was an office assistant with a local legal firm, Crill Canavan, whose partners and staff are actively supporting her during her rein. Holly had just finished her A-levels and was spending some of her free time pursuing her musical activities.
The girls were both very much looking forward to participating in both the
afternoon and the evening parades and were building up their arm muscles for
all the waving they intended to do!
