Mr. Battle 2010
We are delighted to announce that Danny Young will be our Mr. Battle for both the Day Parade and the Moonlight Parade.
Danny started as a footballer playing for the team Charlton Athletic from an early age and then found his love for acting at the age of 14.
He was actually spotted in a karaoke bar in Spain whilst singing Elvis when an agency gave him their details. When arriving back in sunny England the call was made and Danny was accepted on their agency and the rest his history. He got the job on his second audition which happened to be a Woolworths advert.
He then went on to play roles in many dramas, short films and tv shows including "The Vice," "Wall of Silence," and the childrens favourite "KErching". He won "The Best Young Actors Award" for his part of Dean in Out of Control playing Tamzin Outhwaites son in the prison drama. At the age of 17 he then won the part as Warren Baldwin in the hugely popular Tv soap Coronation Street where he played the part of Warren Baldwin alongside, Bradley Walsh and Deborah Stephenson.
After playing roles in a couple of feature films alongside Danny Dyer, Stephen Berkhoff and Jamie Murray, also co-producing Martin kemps directorial debut Expose in 2009.
In 2010 he had an audition for the popular show Dancing on Ice with Olympic gold medallists Christopher Dean and Jane Torvill, where he placed 5th after dropping his hat during prop week. He said "its one of the best experiences i’ve had in my life"
Danny is now working on other acting projects and discussing possible Health and Fitness ventures after taking his top off for his rocky routine and has said "I am very excited to be part of the Battle of flowers event in Jersey"
He looks forward to seeing everyone there.
